I've learned that most people couldn't be bothered to run around deliberately trying to get people's goat. Like as not, it was careless, not intentioned. And, I said so.

When scolded about my actions, I responded mildly. I thought I had been gentle enough in my implied pointing out that the offended's reaction was the problem - it was both excessive, and apparently triggered by panic. In the process of answering his comment, I made it clear that his lecturing wasn't appreciated.

He doubled down.

Have I ever mentioned that I REALLY hate younger people treating me like I'm mentally incompetent? And, especially when they use that annoying, talking-slow-so-you'll-understand tone. Always goes with that crappy pretend-caring attitude that paid-for "helpers" use with the elderly/mentally challenged.

Children Hospitalized for Infection 'Related to" Covid-19?

Those scary headlines are NOT what is presumed. What they seem to imply is that YOUR child, after a mild bout of C-19, will be likely to be hospitalized, in danger of death.

Nah.

First, only FOUR of the 15 children tested positive for C-19. That's just under 3/4 of that sample who had NO C-19 relationship at all.

The disease that caused the hospitalization was Kawasaki disease. It attacks people, primarily children, after a bout of viral illness - which can be a cold or other infection.

Second, I'm betting (and, as I seldom bet unless I'm 98% sure I'm right) that the children affected were of Asian descent - and, possibly, Afro-Jamaican, another group with the genetic variation that makes them susceptible to this disease.

It is NOT believed to be contagious. Prompt treatment is necessary, so don't take it lightly.

"For a very small percentage of children who develop coronary artery problems, Kawasaki disease can cause death, even with treatment."

For MOST children, not a likely complication of ANY viral illness. For those with the genetic variation, can be serious. Fatalities are rare, although recovery can be several weeks.

Why is this surfacing now? Could it be because America is getting ready to get back to business as usual? Are the media TRYING to scare people into screaming for the Lockdown to continue?

What's the take-away? If you have Asian ancestors, you should become familiar with the symptoms. Prompt treatment is important, and highly related to good outcomes.
