One major aspect that is wrong with American Life is that minority viewpoints use our basic desire to compromise as a way of “pushing the camel’s nose into the tent”.  What is that?  Here is one example of the story:

Double Facepalm

I'm having a MASSIVELY difficult time trying to understand why the teacher, the principal, and the district didn't think this was a bad idea.

Students were given the assignment to write the Shahada in Arabic script, in their World Geography class.  I found this on Ace of Spades.

Is there anyone so naive as to believe that self-serving statement (other than a Liberal)?

OF COURSE the curriculum is designed to separate the Believers from their heritage!  At least, the Christian Believers.  That's the whole point of a Modern Progressive Education (trademark pending).  It's a Virtual Democratic Manufacturing Machine!  (trademark refused).

Watching the Leftists Turn Upon Their Elders

I'm kinda torn - on one hand, it IS fun to see the Progressives slapped down by the kids (call them the New Young Turks).  On the other hand, those that will follow the current regime in the universities will make those that preceded them look like angels.

Some "Solutions" Cause More Problems Than They Solve

This change is one that has been suggested by MANY people. Although it would avoid the problem of the state forcing compliance on the Church, it would be more likely to end up with something like they have in Europe  (which does things this way, for the most part) – most couples just use the state-sponsored method of getting official recognition of their marriage.  Few bother with the Church Wedding (or, do it for the sake of the parents, who might be pressuring the young couple).

Day 3 of Enforced Bed Rest

I'm still home, taking it easy.  My arthritic knee is still experiencing inflammation and pain.  With pain meds, and anti-inflammatory meds, I am improving, but S-L-O-W-L-Y.
